DNS Management
With the average domain load of a fulltime webmaster being around 15 – 25, website and server management is quickly becoming the bane of the internet marketplace. As a fulltime webmaster I found that my biggest issue was DNS Management for my 80+ domains, and for the longest time it seemed like a downhill battle.
With so many different servers and registrars, DNS Management quickly became a huge headache; I never knew where to start with DNS related problems. Luckily I was pointed in the direction of Easy DNS, who offer’s a single interface for managing all of my domains. The biggest issue I faced was that most of my websites did no run on static IP’s, so most other all-in-one DNS Management solutions where useless for my circumstance. Easy DNS offers a Dynamic DNS Service which provides a static presence without a static IP; which I have found to be much less costly and much more time efficient that purchasing more dedicated IP ranges for all of my servers.
Easy DNS can dynamically update my host records and MX records in real time and works with Mac, Linux, and Windows clients, which is also a big plus for my setup because I run both Linux and Windows servers. Easy DNS allows full control over SOA, MX, A records, and C names for each of my domains from one easy to use web-based control panel. Easy DNS also allows Catc h-All Email Forwarding, round robin DNS and SPF TXT records. The SPF TXT record management is also a BIG plus for me because with so many domains comes a huge number of emails that I need to make sure my clients receive, and I was a constant victim of email spoofing, which led my emails directly to the junk mail or trash bin of my clients email box.
Another issue that I was looking for a solution for was that I receive daily email to my domains; however a lot of my domains do not have a mail server, so I was in a constant battle trying to actually receive my emails. Easy DNS offers a Catch-All Email Forwarding service, which will redirect all email sent to a domain name to a destination email address which I can specify, so I no longer need to go to 40 different websites just to check all of my mail, now I get it all forwarded to one email address which I monitor daily; this feature also allowed me to cut costs in email storage.
Easy DNS also provides a Backup mail service which will store all of my email for up to five days in the event one of my mail servers is down (which happens quite often). Easy DNS will store the emails for up to five days, and when the mail server is back up and running Easy DNS will automatically send those stored emails to my server, so my clients are no longer burdened with the “could not deliver” email.
All of the services Easy DNS has to offer made it a very easy choice for me; hopefully Easy DNS can save you just as much time and money as they do me with their great DNS Management solutions.
